Here are some pictures that we thought you’d like to see. Most of us are sick with a good ‘ole stomach bug. We just wanted to make sure you knew that we are still alive…. barely.. :P Love, Lydia

Sorry to hear you aren’t feeling well! Dean and I have been super busy with Nathan and Philoscar gone away to work for the summer. I’m just finishing getting the last of the thick layers of old old paper off the walls and dean had to cut open the wall to shut up the bottom of a chimney hid inside where water came through and destroyed that part of the wall. This week, after dean gets the sheet rock on that patch of wall, we’ll be painting ceiling and walls, then sanding the floors. With all this going on, I DID notice the Thorburns have been very very quiet. Sorry you have been under the weather!
Girls, you are truly beautiful young ladies now!!! I am amazed at your photos. You father better stand guard at the doors of the house to keep all those boys away! They’ll want to ask his permission to marry you all!
Like the new look of the site.

Jean, I wrote you a separate email. It amuses me to report that Rich’s favorite song is currently “Cleaning This Gun” by Rodney Atkins. You’ll have to look up the lyrics; it’s a cute little testosterone-y song. All I can say is that the older the kids get, the less we read and the more we PRAY (and I know you and Dean probably say the same!). :^) So thankful for these kiddos tho.. they are growing up really fast.. !

Thanks for the compliment on my picture, Denise…. =P I got it at TJ-Max.
Mrs. Akin, nice to hear from you! Long time no see. About all the boys… there’s a few waiting outside with their suits and flowers but dad’s shooing (mind you, shooing, not shooTing) them off with his rifle…. HA, just kidding.
but I do hope that dad will keep all but the right one away… I DO want to get married some day you know.
We’ve got to get together sometime again… I think I’m sophisticated enough to handle a few hours with your kids… TOTALLY JOKING!!!! lol… I miss every one of you very much! Say hello to everyone for me at your house… thanks.

Oh Lydia. I have him all picked out, you know. Don’t you worry a bit. When it’s time to reel him in, we’ll snag him with the smell of cinnamon buns and whatnot. LOL Don’t WE sound ridiculous. I think the way to go is .. live your life, go 100 miles per hour every day being who you are supposed to be, period… and the right guy will be able to go 101 miles per hour and catch you (or.. er.. stand by the sidelines and TRIP you.. as the case may be..LOL). Beware of the trippers. But, either way, you’ll meet, it will be fabulous and wonderful, and then you will have your little hut mate out in the African desert that you desire (as if it weren’t hot enough there!) haha
LOVE YOU. Mom (not to be taken overly seriously today)
