Smother Love by Nancy Wilson

As I mother our five outrageous, delightful kids, I am always trying to examine and test my inner “starting place” for my impulses, feelings, and decisions (both big and small). Sometimes I have to correct myself on a daily basis!  I have done “good” things for the wrong reasons, and the same thing for the right reasons, at different times. This little blog post by Nancy Wilson so clearly articulated something I have been thinking about that I thought I would post it.

  1. Anna, This post is excellent. From this alone I see why god is sending children your way! :) I wish I could convey this to many parents I know. Realizing that our children belong to God and are not ours is tough for so many. Job thought he could make sacrifices for his children’s sins. Only our children will answer to God for their choices..our job is to equip them to conquer as you so aptly wrote. Wish I could post your post on my facebook for the young moms to read. Several are moms who grew up with my children..all home schooled. If I can figure out how to post such a long post…would you mind?

  3. Moms should frequently remind themselves that their order of priority is 1)God 2)Husband 3)Children. As your kids are growing up that order can get mixed up soemtimes, even if you didn’t start out with that intention.
